Bragg Heavy Coke Drum Move
Project Overview
NCI Job 22-016 is a good example of NCI’s ability to provide engineering, fabrication, and operated equipment support. NCI provided the naval architecture engineering for the operation. The operation included the move from Sacramento, where the vessel was offloaded onto a barge by the ship’s own cranes, onto cradles designed and manufactured by NCI, lashed with lashing gear rented from NCI according to NCI calculations, then moved to an offload position, and rolled ashore with Bragg SPMTS. It was then transferred to a very low NCI carry system of beams and Self Propelled Dollies in order to pass under an overpass with very little clearance of 2 inches total on its way to the final refinery location. NCI provided the operated self-propelled dollies move system and the NCI climbing jacks.
NCI operating crew were then integrated into the Bragg crew responsible for the final moves.
The project was under close scrutiny, occurred safely, on schedule according to a tight schedule, while overcoming obstacles others said were not possible to pass.
